Terms & Conditions

These terms explain the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of all parties and apply to all removals, storage and transport services provided by LJS Transport Ltd trading as Moving Circle Removals and Storage.

Definitions

You / Your: The customer.
We / Us / Our: LJS Transport Ltd (Company No. 16833077).
Item: Any object, package or container handled by us.
Move: Loading, transit and unloading of goods between agreed locations.
Move Day: The day goods are transported to the final destination.

Section A – The Removal

1. Quotations

Quotations are valid for 28 days and exclude customs duties, port charges, inspections, taxes and cancellation waivers unless stated. Additional charges may apply for delays, access issues, weekend work, storage delays, operational charges, parking fees, additional items, currency changes, or regulatory charges.

If access is not granted before 4pm on Move Day, overnight storage or hourly charges may apply.

2. Work Not Included

Floor coverings.
Items excluded under Section 4.
Garden furniture, sheds, greenhouses or outdoor structures.
Specialist dismantling or assembly.

3. Customer Responsibilities

Arrange insurance if £10,000 cover is insufficient.
Provide accurate access, inventory and contact details.
Ensure appliances are empty, clean and safe.
Protect unoccupied premises.
Pack items unless packing service is booked.
Declare all additional items.
Confirm move date at least 14 days before move.

4. Items We Do Not Move

Hazardous or flammable materials.
Jewellery, money, documents, electronics.
Perishables.
Animals or plants.
Illegal or prohibited goods.

5. Ownership of Goods

You confirm ownership or authority to move goods and indemnify us against claims.

6. Cancellation Charges

10+ days: No charge
5–10 days: Up to 30%
Less than 5 days: Up to 60%
Within 24 hours: Up to 90%
On move day: Up to 100%

7. Route and Method

We decide route and method. Vehicles may carry other consignments unless agreed otherwise.

8. Liability

Liability is limited to £20 per item unless increased in writing. International transport is subject to carrier terms.

9. Damage to Premises

Liability is limited to making good damaged areas only. Damage must be noted immediately.

10. Exclusions

Wear and tear
Infestation
Atmospheric damage
Mechanical derangement
Pre-existing defects
Unpacked goods

11. Unloading in the Dark

£25 + VAT per hour surcharge applies.

12. Cancellation Waiver

A 15% waiver allows unlimited postponements without cancellation charges.

13. Transit Delays

We are not liable for delays outside our control. Storage charges may apply.

Section B – Payment

Payment due on completion unless agreed.
Interest charged at 4% above base rate.
Managed move deposit: 25%.
Late payment: £75 + VAT per day.

Lien

We may hold or dispose of goods if payment is not received.

Disputes

Disputes may be referred to ADR.

Sale of Goods

After 3 months notice, unpaid goods may be sold.

Section C – Services

Managed Moves

Includes loading, unloading, assembly, loft and garden clearance.
Deposit refunded if sale falls through.
Packing materials supplied after deposit.

Hourly Services

Minimum 3 hours.
Charged in 30 minute slots.
Fuel and travel costs apply.

Section D – Insurance

£10,000 standard cover.
Excess: £250.
Max insured: £250,000.
Claims must be notified within 7 days.

Section E – International Removals

International removals are subject to access, customs, inventory, tax, and freight conditions. Spain removals may incur 21% duty.

Section F – Reviews & Disputes

Negative reviews under 5 stars are deemed reputational damage and subject to liquidated damages of £5,000.
